xxxKohnen Pheasant Hunting Beginnings

We have hosted pheasant hunters for 27 years starting in our home. It began when our eldest son became old enough to hunt. A few relatives would come to hunt, then they would bring a friend or two. Soon our second son was old enough to carry a gun and the group continued to get larger and larger. Now the two older boys have moved away from home but always return to hunt. Two children Tammy 21, and Robby20 are in college. They look forward each fall to the hunters returning that they have known since they were born and the new hunters they have meet the last 9 years.
xxxSome years there haven’t been many birds but the hunting and the friendships have always been great. In recent years the wild bird population has grown. This winter,  2007-08 has been very mild and the pheasants are doing well.  Check the map to see our location in pheasant country.
xxxSeveral years ago some friends of friends arrived to hunt, they thought we should expand our hunting. This put a little bug in our ear and we have been planting and planning since.   Now, our lodge is built and we have developed our land for hunting.    With nine years in our new lodge, a sporting clays course, a new recreation room, and many new hunting friends we are looking forward to the 2008 season.
xxxHere is what some of our past hunters have had to say about their hunting experiences.
